BROOKINGS, S.D.—The defending Summit League Tournament champion South Dakota State (23-6 overall, 13-3 league) is the No. 2 seed in this year's event to be played Saturday through Tuesday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
• SDSU begins its quest for a seventh Summit League tournament title in the last eight years Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT against No. 7 seed Fort Wayne. If the Jackrabbits win Saturday, they will play a semifinal contest Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday's championship game is at 1 p.m.
• All of South Dakota State's Summit League Championship games will air on The Jackrabbit Sports Network (WNAX 570 AM, KJJQ-AM, KORN-AM, KJOE-FM, KSDR-AM, WNAX-FM 104.1) with Scotty Kwas and Brad Peterson calling the action. The quarterfinal and semifinal games will be seen live on the Midco Sports Network and ESPN3. The championship game will air on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
• The Jackrabbits have won six Summit League Championships in the tournament's history. SDSU is 18-1 overall in the championship.
• SDSU meets IPFW for the third time in The Summit League Championship. In the regular-season games this year, the Jackrabbits have won the last 14 and lead the series 26-1. This year, they defeated the 'Dons, 61-42, in Frost Arena Feb. 13 and, 92-64, in Fort Wayne Jan. 13.
• South Dakota State is 5-1 during the regular season vs. teams on its side of the championship bracket. The Jacks swept potential semifinal opponent Omaha and split with IUPUI, as each team won on its home court.
• The Jackrabbits have won 9 of their last 11 outings.
