For the third in school history, the South Dakota State women's basketball team received votes in the USA Today Sports Coaches preseason poll.
The Jackrabbits received six votes in the 2018 preseason poll. Last year, SDSU received 38 votes.
The last time SDSU was recognized in the Coaches preseason poll was Nov. 9, 2009, when it received 70 votes.
The Jackrabbits' votes are the first since they received votes in the Jan. 11, 2016, AP Coaches poll and the Jan. 4, 2016, Associated Press poll.
The highest South Dakota State has been ranked is 16th in the AP poll March 9, 2009, and 14 in the Coaches poll March 2, 2009.
Two of South Dakota State's nonleague opponents were ranked in the top 25. Louisville was 10
th and Oklahoma 21
st. Also, receiving votes with the Jackrabbits were NC State (67), Drake (18) and Florida Gulf Coast (7).
South Dakota State returns three starters from last year's team that finished 23-9 overall and advancing to the second round of the Women's NIT, State's 11 postseason appearance. Senior

Macy Miller and
Madison Guebert were recognized as 2017 Preseason All-Summit League first-team selections.
