For the second consecutive time against North Dakota, the one-two attack of
Macy Miller and
Madison Guebert carried the South Dakota State women's basketball team to a 66-52 nonleague win over North Dakota in the friendly confines of Frost Arena in front of 1,646 fans.
In last year's game, Miller and Guebert combined for 51 points to lead the Jackrabbits to an 83-72 road win over the Fighting Hawks. Wednesday night, the duo combined for 30 points as South Dakota State improved to 3-0.
Miller scored 18 points to go with eight rebounds while Guebert added 12 points.
Ellie Thompson added seven points, five rebounds and a career-high five blocks.
Leah Klabo led North Dakota (0-2) with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds.
The Jackrabbits used a 5-0 run, fueled by a conventional three-point play by Miller with 6:41 to play in the first quarter, to take an early 8-4 lead and never trailed again.
SDSU took a 10-point lead, 41-31, on junior
Sydney Palmer's 3-pointer with 3:12 left in the third quarter. UND closed to within six points, 45-39, in the fourth quarter on a layup by Klabo at 9:15. The Jacks sank five of six free throws done the stretch for its 11
th consecutive regular-season win in Frost Arena.

- Macy Miller's 18 points kept her in 28th place in career scoring with 1,173 points. She needs two points to pass Lisa Kurtenbach for 27th.
- Ellie Thompson's seven points tonight gives her 1,016 career points and she ranks 35th in career scoring at State.
- Madison Guebert's 12 points tonight give her 884 career points, 116 points shy of 1,000 career points.
- Head coach Aaron Johnston is now 13 wins away from becoming The Summit League leader in overall victories. He has won 248 games.
