Carlos Martinez advances to the finals at the Purdue Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Schwartz Tennis Courts.

Martinez defeated David Buchinsky of Washington, 6-1, 6-4 before topping Collin Rigney of Ball State, 7-6(6), 7-5 to make it into the championship.

Aidan DeBoer lost 6-1, 6-3 in the third round, then upended teammate
Alberto Gonzalez, 7-6(6), 2-6, 6-4. Gonzalez lost in the second round 6-1, 6-1.

Henrique Stemmer went 2-0 on the day dropping Lucas Bolt of Olivet Nazarene, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round and then defeated Matt Moe of IUPUI, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.

Marco Paulo Castro defeated Miles McDowall of Green Bay, 7-5, 6-4 before being upended by Christopher Adams of Bemidji State, 6-3, 6-3.

Emerson Styles defeated Alfonso Martinez of ONU, 7-6(5), 6-1 to advance to the semifinals before being defeated by Adrian Mag of Butler, 7-5, 6-2.

Chuck Tang lost in the second round, 6-4, 6-2 then 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the third, while
Elliot Ward topped Sam Sullivan of Butler, 6-0, 6-1 before retiring in his last match.

On the doubles side, Castro and Stemmer lost in the fourth round 6-1.

Martinez and Gonzalez were upended 6-2 by Li and Takabatake of Washington.
