WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – Carlos Martinez captured his first championship victory at the Purdue Invitational Sunday morning at the Schwartz Tennis Courts.

Martinez defeated Alec Robillard of Ball State, 6-3, 6-1 to win his bracket. The freshman improved his record to 4-0 on the season.
"Great start to our season, all the intense practices are beginning to show results," head coach Joey J. Barnes said. "I'm extremely happy with the guys and looking forward to us getting stronger during the season."
