| Â MEET 2: South Dakota State (Men & Women) at Bison Classic |
The South Dakota State track and field teams travel to Fargo, N.D., to compete with seven other schools, including league preseason-favorite, North Dakota State. It's just the second meet of the new indoor season for the Jackrabbits, and the first time the team will get to compete against the Bison.

Field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the men's team starting the weight throw. The rest of the field events will start at noon. The women's team kickoff the running events at 1 p.m. with the preliminary round of the 60m hurdles. The last event, the 4x400m relay, is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

There are three potential NCAA top-50 matchups for the Jacks on the men's side
- 200m: Fr. Cameron Kuil (47th, 21.97); North Dakota's Oluwaseyi Aguda (44th, 21.96)
- Triple Jump: So. Bryant Courter (8th, 50-00.75); Jr. Josh Dotson (32nd, 48-00.75); North Dakota State's Kelle'Mon Hinton (23rd, 48-06.00)
- Weight Throw: Colton Bender (15th, 65-00.75); North Dakota State's Steffan Stroh (23rd, 63-09.50); North Dakota's Tyler Kolander (45th, 59-09.00)
South Dakota State hasn't competed in the Bison Classic since the 2016 indoor season where the men and women each finished top-three in 10 events. The women's team has two facility records from the 2015 season (Carly Carper, 60m; Mary Wirth, high jump).

Men's Team
At the beginning of December, South Dakota State hosted its annual first meet of the season, the SDSU Holiday Open and Multi.

Highlighting the meet was Summit League Athlete of the Week honoree, sophomore
Bryant Courter. He broke a 25-year-old school record in the triple jump (50-00.75). The record by 5.75 inches, is also the SDSU Holiday meet record, but just missed the facility record of 51-03.50, set last year. The Rich Hill, Mo., native finished second in the second in the school's top 10 for long jump (24-04.50). The sophomore ranks eighth in the triple jump and 11th in the long jump among the NCAA Division I.

Josh Dotson also set a personal-best mark, recording seventh-best in school history in the triple jump (48-00.75). He ranks 32nd in the NCAA Division I performance list.

Anthony Andera and freshman
Trent Francom also added their names to the school's top 10 list, tying for ninth-best in pole vault with jumps of 15-07.00. The duo's jumps rank fourth-best in the league.

Colton Bender, redshirt freshman
Max Reinke, and unattached
Logan Ammons set respectable marks in their first meet. Bender won the weight throw competition (65-00.75) and sits 15th on the DI performance list. Reinke is 90th in the country with the school's ninth-best shot put throw (52-03.25). Ammons competed unattached at the Holiday Open, but recorded his personal-best in the weight throw of 59-05.75, posting fourth-best among all-time Jacks.

Coby Hilton and freshman
Cameron Kuil are ranked in the top 55 of runners in Division I for the 200m, with Kuil ranking 47th (21.97) and Hilton at 53rd (22.02). Both of them had times fast enough to make the Jacks' top 10 list - Kuil at fifth, Hilton at sixth.

Hilton, the Marshall, Minn., native also recorded 6.99 to rank sixth on the school's top 10 list for the 60m.

Landon Larson and
Sam Zenner, along with redshirt freshman
Josh Goehring have top-60 marks in the country. Larson ranks 57th (22.05) in the 200m, Zenner is 59th (6.87) in the 60m, and Goehring is 48th (1:55.82) in the 800m.

Nick Wessels posted a top-10 time in the 60m hurdles at the SDSU Holiday Open, recording ninth (8.41). He has the league's third-best time in the league.

Sam Johnson have the country's 53rd-best 4x400m relay time (3:18.30). The mark is the SDSU Holiday Open's best relay record.

Women's Team
The Jacks have three student-athletes in the NCAA Division I top 100 after the SDSU Holiday Open in the beginning of December. Redshirt freshman
Bailey Cowling reached her personal-best (5-05.00) in the high jump, which placed 75th in country, third in the Summit League.

Sophomore Jaymie O'Connor ranks 81st with her time of 8.74 in 60m. It's the league's second-best time, six hundredths of a second behind the leader.

Junior
Abby Sudbeck is sitting 52nd (57-07.50) in the weight throw. Her mark made it to sixth on South Dakota State's top 10 list.

Savannah Dolezal, who recorded ninth on the list with her first attempt in the 600m (1:39.10).

Emily Altenburg and
Emma Stewart each added team-best marks in their first collegiate meet. Altenburg placed third in the long jump (17-08.00) while Stewart recorded fifth in the triple jump (35-11.50).
