The South Dakota State men's and women's tennis teams are traveling to Kearney, Neb. Feb. 2-3 for matches against Nebraska-Kearney and Rockhurst.
 
"We are looking forward to competing against both teams," head coach 
Joey J. Barnes said. "The men had a weekend break and have practice hard. They are really wanting to get back on the competition court, while our women are working toward getting stronger and stronger."
 
The Men's Side
The men play the Lopers at noon on Friday. This is the first time for the two teams to meet in program history.
 
The Jacks then face the Hawks on Saturday at 10 a.m. This will be the third time for the teams to meet in program history. The series is tied 1-1.
 
State is coming into the weekend after a week off. They opened the season with a doubleheader at Nebraska when they fell 0-2.
 
For the Women
The women take on UNK following the men at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. State leads the series 1-0.
 
They will then matchup against Rockhurst at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. This is also the third time for the teams to meet and the series is tied 1-1.
 
SDSU comes into the weekend 0-2 after losses to Minnesota and Northern Iowa Jan. 27-28.
 
Up Next
The men travel to Des Moines, Iowa for matches against Drake and Arizona Feb. 9-10, while the women are headed to Columbia, Mo. To face Missouri and Tulane Feb. 10-11.
