SANTA ANA, Calif.—For the third time this fall season, South Dakota State women's golfer
Teresa Toscano recorded a top-10 finish, this time at the UC Irvine Invitational.
Toscano shot a season-low 214 (73-70-71) to tie for seventh on the par-72, 6,072-yard Santa Ana Country Club. The junior collected 12 birdies and an eagle in the final round of the tournament. Toscano also placed higher than San Diego State's Gioia Carpinelli (T-14
th), the No. 74th-ranked in the NCAA.
The Jackrabbits placed fourth for their second top-five finish of the fall season. SDSU shot a season-low 6-over-par 870 (290-288-292). Cal Poly won the 10-team tournament with a 5-under-par 859. The Mustangs' Caroline Cantlay was medalist with a 10-under-par 206.
SDSU's
Sydney Bormann finished 11th with a career-low 216 (72-72-72). She collected 11 birdies in the tournament, including three among the final nine holes.
Lani Potter turned in her best collegiate performance to date, tying for 20th with a 220 (73-73-74).
Cassidy Laidlaw tied for 30th (72-76-75=223) and
Mia Seeman tied for 39th (76-73-76=225) in the 71-player field.
