           The South Dakota State volleyball team returns to the road this weekend when it plays in the Hotel Renovo-Wildwood Lodge Invitational hosted by Drake in Des Moines, Iowa
           Play begins Friday with the Jackrabbits versus UMass Lowell at 11 a.m. and then against Drake at 7 p.m. Saturday, SDSU plays Eastern Illinois at 10 a.m. and Iowa at 3 p.m.
           South Dakota State fell to 0-6 on the season after losing to Seattle U (3-0), Weber State (3-1) and Green Bay (3-0) in the Jackrabbits Invitational last weekend.
           The Drake match can be seen on ESPN+ Friday night.

Setting the Scene
- South Dakota State looks to end its six-match losing streak this season and 20-match overall losing streak. The Jacks' last win was Sept. 16, 2017, over UMKC.
- South Dakota State is in its 53rd season overall and 12th in the Division I era. The Jackrabbits sport an 896-714-8 (.556) all-time record and 176-265 (.399) mark in Division I play.
- The Jackrabbits lead the UMass Lowell series 1-0 while SDSU leads the Drake series 9-8; Eastern Illinois leads 2-1; and Iowa leads 5-0.
A Quick Glance at South Dakota State
- Fourth-year head coach Nicole Cirillo's probable starters are juniors Makenzie Hennen (3.48 kps, 2.62 dps) and freshman Crystal Burk (2.25 kps, 2.20 dps) on the outside, senior Sierra Peterson (1.63 kps, 0.42 bps) on the right side; senior Payton Richardson (1.90 kps, 0.60 bps) and freshman Sydney Andrews (1.90 kps, .313) are in the middle; sophomore Maddie Fay (9.71 aps, 1.81 dps) setting and sophomore Kari Brucker (3.20 dps) as libero.
- In the Jackrabbits Invitational, Hennen led SDSU offensively, recording 3.50 kills per set and 2.70 digs per set. Defensively, Kari Brucker collected a team-best 4.10 digs per set.
- The 2018 SDSU volleyball roster features 14 players from nine states. Of the 14 players, three are from Iowa, two from California, two from Nebraska, two from Minnesota and one each from Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Missouri. By class, the Jacks have three seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and seven freshmen.
