PHOENIX—South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano is atop the leaderboard at the GCU Invitational after the opening round Saturday. The second round was suspended due to darkness and will resume Sunday.

Toscano shot an opening-round 2-under par 70 on the 6,187-yard GCU Golf Course. She collected three birdies on the front nine and two on the back nine.

The Jackrabbits were second after the first round, shooting a 299. Toledo leads the 20-team field.

Mia Seeman and Cassidy Laidlaw shot 76s, Lani Potter had a 77 and Sydney Bormann fired an 80.
