Editor's note: The South Dakota State women's basketball seniors are sharing on GoJacks.com "Letter to Jackrabbit Nation."Â Last is senior Macy Miller.
Dear Jackrabbit Nation:
Â
Where do I begin? The last five years have gone by in a flash. There are so many plays, games, pieces of seasons and off-seasons that were undeniably memorable. Let me start at the beginning. From the moment I stepped on campus as a high school player, I knew this was where I wanted to be. All of the pieces—from the campus to the academic challenges, and of course the basketball tradition—seemed to be in place. But ultimately, it was the people. I knew I would be shaped by basketball and school, but I could have never known the impact of Jackrabbit Nation on my life until I experienced it. No one can.
Â
None of what we have accomplished during my time on campus would have been possible without our outstanding coaching staff. They have continually pushed me to be my best, and I will be forever grateful. My teammates, from my freshman season on, have made an incredible impact on my life. They have continually helped to shape me into a better player, but more importantly, they have been people I can both celebrate with and lean on in the toughest of times. Of course, so many of my experiences lack meaning without our community of support. Thank you, Jackrabbit Nation. Your continual support through my time on campus is something I will never forget, and it means more than you could possibly ever know.
Â
I don't know for certain where the next chapter of my life will take me after this final season. But, the memories I have created at Frost Arena, and so many gyms across the country, are things I will remember forever. Not because of stats and scores or wins and losses, but because of the incredible feeling of support and belonging I felt while wearing a South Dakota State jersey. I am humbled, and I am proud, but most of all Jackrabbit Nation, I am thankful for you letting me a part of all of this.
Â
Thank you for the greatest ride of my life, and, as always, Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks.
Â
Macy Miller
