South Dakota State senior
Macy Miller was voted The Summit League Player of the Year for the second year in a row and three other Jackrabbits earned Summit League honors Thursday as the league officials announced award winners before the start of the upcoming Summit League Basketball Tournament.
Â
The No. 1-seeded Jackrabbits begin their journey to a possible ninth championship at noon Saturday against eighth-seed Purdue Fort Wayne.
Â
Votes by the league's head coaches, sports information directors and select media members determined the league awards.
Â

She is the first to repeat as Summit League player since Purdue Fort Wayne's Amanda Hyde was named player of the year in 2012-13 and 2013-14. Miller joins Hyde, Oral Roberts' Kevi Luper and Krista Ragan, Western Illinois' Zane Teilane and Youngstown State's Brianne Kenneally as the only players in Summit League history to be named player of the year two-or-more times in their careers.
Â
Miller also earned a spot on the all-league first team for the third time. She was second in The Summit League in scoring (17.4) and in league-only scoring (17.9). The guard scored in double figures in 15 of 16 Summit League games and collected a pair of 30-plus points games and 11 20-plus point games overall.
Â
The two-time Summit League Player of the Week enters The Summit League Championship also averaging 5.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 54.5 percent from the field, 44.8 percent from 3-point range and 84.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Â
