Summit women's basketball schedule revealed

SIOUX FALLS — The South Dakota State University women's basketball team will begin its quest for a seventh Summit League regular season title Dec. 29, when the Jackrabbits travel to Omaha. Summit League officials revealed the 2019-20 women's basketball conference schedule Monday afternoon.
The Jackrabbits, who claimed the regular season title during the 2018-19 campaign with a 15-1 league record, went on to win the Summit League tournament championship for the ninth time in 11 years. SDSU returns three starters from a squad that posted a 28-7 overall record in advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
SDSU tips off the home portion of the 2019-20 season Jan. 2 versus Oral Roberts, in what will be the opening game of a doubleheader with the men's team. Other home league doubleheaders are slated for Jan. 4 versus Western Illinois and Feb. 8 against Omaha.
The Jackrabbits are slated to finish off the home portion of the January schedule by hosting North Dakota on Jan. 16 and North Dakota State on Jan. 24.
Completing the eight-game home schedule is a February homestand versus Denver (Feb. 13) and Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 15), along with the Feb. 22 home finale against South Dakota.
A four-game road slate in the opening month of the new calendar year begins with a Jan. 9 matchup at Denver. Other January road games include Jan. 12 at Purdue Fort Wayne, Jan. 18 at South Dakota and Jan. 30 at Western Illinois.
The February road schedule starts on the opening day of the month with a matchup at Oral Roberts. Trips on consecutive Thursdays to North Dakota (Feb. 20) and North Dakota State (Feb. 27) conclude the away slate.
The Dec. 29 opener at Omaha and Feb. 27 matchup at NDSU also are scheduled as doubleheaders.
Game times for all league contests will be announced at a later date, as will the Jackrabbits' nonconference schedule.
The Summit League Basketball Championships are set for March 7-10, 2020, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
