BOURNEMOUTH, England -- South Dakota State women's golfer Teresa Toscano will represent her native country of Spain for the second time this summer, this time in England, July 24-27 at the European Ladies' Amateur Championship.

Toscano will be one of 144 individuals, representing 30 different countries, to play the event at the par-72 Parkstone Golf Club.

The championship will consist of 72 holes (4 rounds) of stroke play starting on Wednesday and concluding Saturday. Following Friday's third round, the top 60 players will advance to Saturday's final round before gold, silver and bronze medals are given to the top three finishers.

Besides earning gold and a trophy, the winner also punches a ticket into the AIG Women's British Open, Aug. 1-4.

Toscano recently helped team Spain place second in the European Ladies' Team Championship, July 9-13, in which she placed 26th among 120 golfers through the qualifying rounds.

The senior will be back with the Jackrabbits in plenty of time to open the 2019-20 season, Sept. 9 at the NDSU Fall Match Play in Fargo, N.D.
