NORMAN, Okla. – South Dakota State men's golfer
Jacob Otta was one of 279 Division I golfers to be named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Otta currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.47 as a Human Biology major. He also played in all 11 events in 2018-19 and recorded a 73.84 stroke average.
In his junior year, the now senior to be shot a career-low 65 in the opening round of the Hawkeye Invitational to record a season-low 54 holes score of 211 at 2-under. He later tied for 12th at the Summit League Championship, shooting a 223.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
