Jacob Knodle of West Fargo, N.D. (Sheyenne H.S.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete with the Jackrabbit cross country and track and field program. Knodle was the 2020 North Dakota Class A cross country runner-up which was his third top ten state meet finish, coming in third in 2019 and seventh in 2018 for the Mustangs.
He won six of the seven races he ran this fall while running 15:46 or better for 5,000 meters in six of the seven races. He ran a personal best of 15:32.63 for 5K to win the Eastern Dakota Conference meet. In 2019, Knodle finished 16th at the Nike Nationals Cross Country Heartland Regional. Â
On the track he ran 4:25 for 1600 meters and 9:43 for 3200 meters as a sophomore. His junior track season was wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Â
Knodle is an honor student that will major in physics. Â
The Jackrabbits are four time defending Summit League men's cross country champions and are coming off a fourth place finish in the 2019 NCAA Midwest Regional.Â
