ST. GEORGE, Utah - The South Dakota State women's golf team is in second place at the conclusion of the first round of the
Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational on Thursday in St. George, Utah.

The 36-hole event, that the entire SDSU women's roster is competing in, is being played at the Sunbrook Golf Course, a par-72 course that is 5,914 yards in length. The Jackrabbits finished the initial round with a team total 297 (+9), just a stroke behind host team Southern Utah who leads the 12-team field with 296 (+8). Eastern Washington sits in third at 301 (+13).

A quartet of Jacks rank among the top 10 led by
Teresa Toscano and
Mia Seeman, tied for fourth at even-par 72.
Sydney Bormann, who is competing as an individual, is tied for sixth with 73 (+1).

Alex Kandolin is tied for 10
th at 2-over-par 74.
Cassidy Laidlaw also factored into the team score with 79 (+7) and is tied for 33
rd.

Individuals
Sydney Wirebaugh and
Jenna Sutcliffe are tied for 23
rd (77) and 56
th (85), respectively.
Lani Potter rounds out the Jackrabbit lineup, also tied for 56
th after carding an 85 (+13) in the first round.
