FRANKFORT, Ill. – The South Dakota State women's golf duo of
Teresa Toscano and
Mia Seeman will return to the course this week as they compete in the Women's Western Amateur at Prestwick Country Club in Frankfort, Ill. The 120-field player tournament runs July 20-25 at Prestwick's 6,374-yard, par-72 layout.
Held without interruption since 1901, the Women's Western Amateur is among the oldest annual championships in women's amateur golf. Each year, it attracts many of the top amateur and collegiate golfers in the world.

The competition begins with stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday, before the field is cut to 32 players for match play. The match play qualifiers are seeded in a single-elimination bracket to determine the Women's Western Amateur champion.

Toscano was crowned the South Dakota Golf Association Women's Match Play champion earlier this month.

This year's Women's Western Amateur champion and runner-up will receive invitations to play in the U.S. Women's Amateur at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., Aug. 3-9.
Live scoring will be available at
GolfGenius.com beginning Tuesday and will continue throughout the championship.
