DALLAS— The South Dakota State equestrian team showed great improvement from yesterday, but ultimately fell to No. 5 Southern Methodist 15-4 in Dallas, Texas.Â
The Jackrabbits put up points in both Fences and Reining against the Mustangs. Sam Hunsecker scored the Jackrabbits first point of the day over fences with an 83 on Hamilton. SDSU shined in reining with
Cassandra Townsend (67.5),
Natalie Gydesen (70) and
Isabelle Riggs (71) all securing points for the Jacks.Â

AGAINST TENNESSEE-MARTIN
SDSUÂ completed two of four events against Tennessee-Martin Friday, competing in Fences and Horsemanship. The Jacks hold a 5-3 lead on the Skyhawks headed into day two with
Jadyn Taylor (72) and
Shelby Cochran (75) scoring in horsemanship. Over fences,
Hayley Kastrup (85),
Rachel Darby (80) and
Julia Werkhoven (87, first career point) scored for State.Â
