The South Dakota State women's basketball team will host St. Cloud State Wednesday night in exhibition action at Frost Arena.
SDSU is coming off a 21-4 season that ended in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The team returns 13 members of last season's squad, including all five starters and First-Team All-Summit selections Myah Selland, Tylee Irwin and Paiton Burckhard. The trio was recently named to the All-Summit League Preseason First Team with Selland being tabbed as the Preseason Player of the Year. The Jackrabbits were picked to finish second in the Summit League's Preseason Poll after winning the regular season title a season ago.Â
Selland was a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention a season ago and was named to the preseason watch list for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award earlier this month.Â
St. Cloud State went 12-6 last season and 7-3 in the NSIC's North Division action. The Huskies were the No. 2 seed in the NSIC postseason tournament and finished runner-up. They return their All-America Honorable Mention Tori Wortz, who averaged 14.7 points per game last season.
The Jacks and the Huskies will tip-off at 7 p.m.Â
