The South Dakota State swimming and diving program travels to Vermillion Friday for a dual meet against South Dakota. Meet time is scheduled for noon at the DakotaDome Pool. A meet schedule can be found here.Â

FRIDAY (1/29)
SDSU's 400 medley relay team (Benson, Sorenson, Steffen, White) took third in the event Friday night with a 3:35.88 clocking. Marcus Benson would then go on to take second in the men's 100 back with a time of 53.71. SDSU's 200 free relay of Will Bierschbach, Charles Seiglaff, Henry Skinner and Max White came in second with a 1:25.76. Right behind that squad was State's team of Caleb Harthoorn, Zander McLeod-Boyd, Caleb Schoenhouer and Cody Watkins who finished in a time of 1:28.18. Individually, Caleb Harthoorn finished third in the 100 back with a 53.87 clocking. Cayden Christianson finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.55. Charles Sieglaff had two second place finishes, one in the 50 free with a time of 21.56 and one in the 100 where he swam a 47.77. Damon Venner came in second in the 1000 free with a 10:33.20 recording. Spencer Fritze finished in first place in the men's one meter dive, racking up 259.80 points.On the three meter board, Fritze would finish second with 265.95 points while Zach Boyd followed with 250.15.
SATURDAY (1/30)
On Saturday, SDSU's 200 free relay team of Marcus Benson, Gavin Wheeler, Cody Watkins and Liam Murray took second with a time of 1:36.80. Matt Sorenson took a third place finish in the 200 free with a clocking of 1:47.43. In the 50 free, Charles Sieglaff finished runner-up with a time of 21.73. In the 100 IM, Cayden Christianson swam a time of 54.35 to claim third place. In the 200 fly, Max White took third place with a time of 2:00.15. Will Bierschbach and Charles Sieglaff both continued their early season success. This time, they showed it by going 1-2 in the 100 free with Bierschbach taking second with a 48.39 and Sieglaff taking third with a 48.72. Caleb Harthoorn claimed second in the 200 backstroke with a 1:57.61 while Marcus Benson followed with a third place finish and time of 1:58.27. Caleb Harthoorn finished the 200 back in a time of 1:57.61 for second pace while Marcus Benson swam a 1:58.27 for third. Alex Kraft (2nd, 4:58.79) and Matt Sorenson (3rd, 5:02.05) finish in the top three for the Jacks in the 500 free.Quenton Steffen finished in 2:12.98 for third place in the 200 breast.
On the boards, Zach Boyd scored 263.65 in the one meter dive and did the same thing in the three meter, this time with 255.55 points.
ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE

SDSU's 'A' relay of Kelsey Kocon, Alyssa Eckstein, Kristen Davis and Emma Bachelder finished in second with a time of 3:55.98 while the 'B' squad of Sianne Downes, Sam Frigard, Liezl Ocon and Grace Witherspoon finished in 4:01.39. Emily Pincus captured her first gold of the season with a 10:33.24 clocking in the 1000. Elisabeth Timmer turned in a time of 1:44.89 to take first in the 200 free. Emma Walz captured second in the 50 free with a time of 24.25 and Grace Witherspoon followed with a 24.73. Alyssa Eckstein claimed second in the 200 IM with a 2:11.44 clocking. In the 100 fly,| Kristen Davis swam a 58.49 to take third. Kelsey Cocon came in second in the 100 back with a 58.09. Alyssa Eckstein went on to finish third with a 1:07.12 in the 100 breast. In the 200 free relay, SDSU's 'A' squad (Timmer, Walz, Drezen, Kocon) took gold with a 1:35.95. Aleni Stoakes picked up 213.55 points on the one meter board and third on the three meter board with 217.30 points. Quincee Simonson scored 217.75 from three meters.

SDSU 'B' (Walz, Eckstein, Ocon, Witherspoon) took second in 1:49.02 while the 'A' relay of (Kocon, Frigard, Davis, Drezen) finished third with a 1:49.07 clocking.Zoey Ahrens takes second in a time of 18:23.84 in the 1650 free. Grabbing her second gold of the meet, Emily Pincus finished in 1:55.69 to take first for the Jackrabbits while Emma Walz took second with a 1:56.32 in the 200 free! Elisabeth Timmer finishes first with a 24.09 and Emma Bachelder follows with a 24.85 to take second in the 50 free. Timmer also took first in the 100 free with a 52.77, while Emma Bachelder took third with a 54.52! Emily Pincus swam a 5:12.90 to lead the Jacks and take first in the 500 free. Zoey Ahrens followed with a 5:22.65 for third. Alyssa Eckstein took gold with a 2:24.43 clocking, while Samantha Frigard ended up in third with a 2:29.65! SDSU's 'A' squad of Emily Pincus, Emma Bachelder, Emma Walz and Elizabeth Timmer claimed first with a 3:32.92 In the 400 free relay.
Quincee Simonson finished in third place on the one meter board with 236.80 points.
JACKS HONORED BY THE SUMMIT LEAGUE
Spencer Fritze was named Summit League Male Diver of the Week for the week of Jan. 19. Fritze opened his sophomore diving campaign with a win in the 1-meter competition in the season-opening diving dual at St. Cloud State (287.90) and placed second on the 3-meter board with a score of 248.55.
Elisabeth Timmer was named Summit League Female Swimmer of the Week for the week of Feb. 2. The sophomore from Savaneta, Aruba won the 100 Free (52.16) on day one of the Coyote Quad Duals and finished second in the 200 Free (1:55.89). On day two, she won both the 50 Free (24.09) and 200 Free (52.77) as well as anchor the winning 400 Free Relay (3:32.92) in a split of 51.97.
