OMAHA, Neb. – South Dakota State women's volleyball swept Omaha on the road Saturday evening (26-24, 25-21, 25-23).

The Jackrabbits improved to 3-10 overall and 3-9 in Summit League play as Omaha fell to 9-5 overall, 8-4 Summit League. State held a 7-3 advantage in blocks and recorded six aces compared to the Mavericks' three.

Crystal Burk registered her fifth straight double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs.
Akeela Jefferson tallied 11 kills and nine digs.
Anna Nerad posted six kills, three blocks and two service aces.
Tori Thompson and
Hailee Blau recorded three blocks each.
Carly Wedel dished 32 assists while
Tatum Pickar recorded 25 digs.

The Jackrabbits jumped out to an 8-6 lead in the first set, but Omaha went on a 5-6 run to take an 11-9 advantage. A pair of kills by Jefferson and one by Burk put the Jackrabbits back up by one. State built its lead to 21-18 when three straight Omaha points tied the set at 21-21. The teams alternated points as the score remained tied at 24-all. Back-to-back Maverick errors have the Jackrabbits a 26-24 first set win.

Omaha held a 7-6 edge to open the second when a 10-4 run pushed the Jackrabbit to a 16-11 lead. SDSU would maintain its lead throughout the rest of the frame. While Omaha chipped away at the deficit to come within two (23-21), a Maverick error and a kill by Jefferson gave the Jacks a 2-0 lead in the match.

SDSU remained hot as it scored the first five points of the third set. The lead wouldn't last long as Omaha went on a 12-1 run to take a 12-6 lead. The Mavericks extended its advantage to 20-15 when a kill by Nerad and four Omaha attack errors tied things up at 20-20. The squads traded points but Omaha remained in front, 23-22. A kill from Burk and back-to-back Barnes service aces completed the Jackrabbit sweep with a 25-23 third set victory.
