NEWTON, Kan. – The South Dakota State women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of play at the Summit League Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

The Jackrabbits recorded a 17-over 305 in the initial round of play. Denver leads the eight-team field at 1-over 289, while North Dakota and South Dakota are tied for second with 304 (+16).

Teresa Toscano and
Cassidy Laidlaw lead the Jacks tied for fifth at 3-over 75.
Hester Sicking is tied for 16
th after carding a 5-over 77 in the first round.

Lani Potter is tied for 20
th with 6-over 78. All five Jackrabbits finished inside the top-25 of the 40-player field as
Mia Seeman sits in 24
th with 79 (+7).

Denver's Alyson Bean and Anna Zanusso are tied for first with 2-under 70.
