NEWTON, Kan. – The South Dakota State women's golf team improved to second place following day two of the Summit League Championship.

The Jackrabbits led the eight-team field by 13 strokes in the second round, firing a team score of 312 (+24). State's two-round total of 617 (+41) trails first-place Denver (38-over 614) by just three strokes. Oral Roberts is in third place, trailing SDSU by 26 strokes with 643 (+67).

Teresa Toscano carded a field-low 3-over 75 to improve to first place with a 36-hole total of 150 (+6).
Lani Potter jumped 15 spots on the leaderboard, firing a 77 (+5) in the second round, for a two-day total of 155 (+11), tying for fifth.

Cassidy Laidlaw remained in the top-10, recording an 81 (+9) in the second round and is tied for seventh with a 36-hole score of 156 (+12).
Mia Seeman improved 14 spots and is now tied for 10
th after carding her second consecutive 79 (+7). The junior heads into the final round with a total score of 158 (+14).
Hester Sicking is tied for 13
th with 77-83—160 (+16).

South Dakota State will conclude play at the 2021 Summit League Championship on Monday. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. at the par-72, 6,000-yard Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
