MEN'S GOLF ADDS TY KRETZ

South Dakota State announced Thursday the addition of Ty Kretz to the men's golf team.Â
Kretz, a native of Marinette, Wisconsin, joins the Jackrabbits as one of the top high school golfers in the state of Wisconsin.Â
"We are grateful Ty decided to join our program," director of golf Casey VanDamme said. "Ty is a great young man that has a very high ceiling! He has demonstrated the commitment to be a top notch player and we are confident we can help him accomplish his goals."
A two-time Wisconsin North Eastern Conference Golfer of the Year, Kretz finished the 2020 high school season with an average score of 74.2. He won the Palm Beach Junior Open in January and was tied for first in the Boys Class of 2021 rankings by Wisconsin.Golf. He shot a 64 on back-to-back days in the WPGA events at Beloit Country Club and Cherokee Country Club last summer.
Kretz will enroll at SDSU in the fall and plans to major in business management.Â
