South Dakota State will meet South Dakota Saturday afternoon in Vermillion for the 94th time in the all-time series. The Jackrabbits and the Coyotes are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the Summit League, both at 4-0 with all four wins coming against the same teams (Kansas City, Oral Roberts, North Dakota State, North Dakota).
Saturday's contest will be a battle of the Summit's top (and nearly identical) offenses. USD barely edges SDSU in points per game, 76.8-76.3, while the Jacks have the slight advantage in field goal percentage, .498-.496.
State is led in conference action by
Paige Meyer's 14.0 PPG, followed up by
Paiton Burckhard's 11.0 PPG. In total, five Jackrabbits score 10+ PPG in Summit contests (
Tylee Irwin - 10.8,
Myah Selland - 10.8,
Tori Nelson - 10.0).
Overall, Meyer also tops the Jacks' assist (3.9 APG) and steal (1.1 SPG) charts.
Kallie Theisen ranks first in rebounding with 5.6 per contest and blocks with 1.4 on average.
South Dakota is 11-4 overall and has won nine straight games. Chloe Lamb, the reigning Summit League Player of the Week, leads the Coyotes in scoring (16.3 PPG) and most recently dropped 27 points in a win over NDSU. Hannah Sjerven (14.1 PPG) and Liv Korngable (11.9 PPG) also average double figures.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State moved back above .500 on the season with a pair of wins last week. The Jacks are 8-7 on the year and 4-0 in the Summit League.
- Saturday's matchup is a meeting of the only remaining unbeaten Summit League teams - SDSU and USD both sit at 4-0 with all four wins coming against the same opponents.
- SDSU and USD have put up nearly identical scoring numbers in conference games. The Coyotes average 76.8 PPG and the Jackrabbits are just behind with 76.3 PPG. SDSU holds the edge in field goal shooting at 49.8 percent while USD shoots 49.6 percent.

- Freshman Paige Meyer is the Jackrabbits' points (10.9 PPG), assists (3.9 APG) and steals (1.1 SPG) leader and ranks fourth in rebounding (4.1 RPG). Meyer is one of four freshmen in DI averaging at least that stat line.
- Paige Meyer is averaging 14.0 PPG in Summit League play, ranking second among the league's freshmen and ninth overall. She has scored 10+ points in five straight contests.
- Tori Nelson has been a consistent scoring threat for the Jackrabbits, putting up 9+ points in eight of the last nine contests. The majority of her scoring comes from inside the 3-point line but the sophomore has knocked down at least one trey in all but two games this season.
- Myah Selland has scored in every appearance of her career, 95 games, and put up more than 10 points in 69 of those contests. She is averaging 10.5 PPG and 21 minutes in her eight appearances this season.
- Tylee Irwin continues to climb SDSU's career games chart. Saturday's game at USD will be career game No. 137 for the 5th-year senior, which will move her to second all-time. Macy Miller is the program's leader with 144 career games played. The NCAA record is 157 career games.
- Tylee Irwin, Myah Selland and Paiton Burckhard have all scored more than 1,000 career points and tallied more than 500 career rebounds for South Dakota State. SDSU is one of just a handful of programs nationally with three or more active players to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
