LARCHWOOD, Iowa - Three members of the South Dakota State men's golf team played the opening round of the USF Invitational Monday at the Falls Golf Course.
Tucker D'Allaird fired a 1-under-par 71 on day one and sits in sixth place. The freshman collected three birdies on the front nine holes, then added one more on the back nine. He recorded 12 par holes and only two holes over par.
Bryson Mercier tallied a 76 (+4) Monday, which ties him for 22nd place. Mercier, also a freshman, had three birdies on the day.
Lucas Schaefbauer carded a 79 (+7) and is tied for 34th place. He had five birdies in the opening round.
Mason Weeks from the University of Sioux Falls shot a 5-under 67 to lead the individual standings.
The final round of the tournament will be played Tuesday.
