PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas - The South Dakota State women's golf team played the opening round of the White Sands Invitational Friday at Ocean Club Golf Course.
The Jackrabbits are in a tie for seventh place with a 313 (+25) total team score.
A trio of Jackrabbits are tied for 24th place to lead SDSU.
Alex Kandolin,
McKenzie Mages and
Piper Stubbs each recorded a 78 (+6) on their first 18 holes. Kandolin and Mages recorded a par on most holes but shot over par four times each. Stubbs collected two birdies to go with six holes over par.
Tatum Depuydt is one shot behind SDSU's leaders with a 7-over 79. She is tied for 31st place.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is in a tie for 37th with an 80 (+8).
Lipscomb leads the team standings with a 3-over-par day one score. Sierra Stout (69, -3) and Lauren Thompson (70, -2), both of Lipscomb, lead the individual standings.
The Jackrabbits return to the course Saturday for the second round of competition. Action is set to begin at 8 a.m. ET with a shotgun start. The final 18 holes will be played Sunday.Â
