PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas - The South Dakota State women's golf team improved its team score by four shots Saturday and moved into sole possession of seventh place on the White Sands Invitational leaderboard following the second round.
The Jackrabbits carded a 309 (+21) as a team Saturday, bringing their team total to 622 (+46). SDSU is four strokes behind sixth-place Memphis with one round left to play.
Piper Stubbs is tied for 17th place to lead the Jackrabbits. She fired a 75 (+3) Saturday, the best single round of the tournament for the Jacks so far, to move up seven spots on the leaderboard.
Alex Kandolin shot a 77 (+5) and has a 155 (+11) total score. She is tied for 25th place. MckEnzie Mages matched her Friday score with a 78 (+6) and is tied for 29th place.
Shakira-Ann Kuys and
Tatum Depuydt round out the lineup in 34th and 35th place, respectively.
Lipscomb has all five players inside the top eight and leads the team standings by 25 strokes. South Dakota State graduate
Mia Seeman, who is using her fifth year at Lipscomb, is tied for eighth place. Lauren Thompson is the individual leader at 2-under-par.
The teams return to the course Sunday morning at 8 a.m. ET for the final 18 holes.
