NEWTON, Kan. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is in third place following the first round of the Summit League Championship Sunday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club.
Mia Seeman paces the Jackrabbits with an 72 (E) scorecard, which has her in a tie for second.
The Jackrabbits put together a 301 (+13) opening round and sits two shots behind Oral Roberts (299, +11) and nine behind Denver (292, +4).
Seeman collected three birdies on the front nine to help her to a three-way tie for second place. Denver's Anna Zanusso holds a four-shot lead over the field at 68 (-4).
Lani Potter and
Piper Stubbs posted matching 76 (+4) scores and are in a tie for 11th with three others.
Hester Sicking is one stroke behind with a 77 (+5), tied for 16th.
Shakira-Ann Kuys rounds out the lineup at 78 (+6) and in a tie for 23rd place.
The second round of the tournament tees off Monday morning at 8 a.m. SDSU's day will begin at 9:40 a.m.
