WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is in seventh place following the first two rounds of the William & Mary Fall Invitational at Kingsmill Resort.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is tied for 11th place to pace the Jacks.
State totaled a 611 (+35) team score on the first day.
Kuys carded matching 74 (+2) scores in each of Monday's rounds. The sophomore tallied three birdies in round one and more four in round two. Kuys is two shots off seventh place and 12 shots off the lead.
McKenzie Mages had the next best day for the Jackrabbits. She recorded a par on all but one hole in her first collegiate round for a 73 (+1). Mages then carded a 79 during the second round. She sits in a tie for 21st place at 8-over.
Tatum Depuydt (t40, +14),
Piper Stubbs (t45, +15) and
Alex Kandolin (t47, +17) round out the Jackrabbit squad.
Richmond's Hannah Lydic holds a four-shot lead over the rest of the field. She shot a blistering 65 (-7) in the first round and followed that with a 71 (-1) in round two. Richmond leads the team standings at 10-over.
The Jackrabbits will return to the course with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start Tuesday for the final round.
