The South Dakota State women's golf team put together a strong showing Monday in its home tournament at the Brookings Country Club and sits in second place with one round remaining. The Jacks were led by senior
Alex Kandolin, who is in first place.
Kandolin, a Rapid City native, shot a 74 (+2) in her first round Monday, then carded a 72 (E) in the afternoon. She was the only player to fire an even-par round on the day. Kandolin has a one shot lead over North Dakota State's Leah Skaar.
Tatum Depuydt is in a tie for 10th place in the individual standings. She shot a 77 (+5) in the first round and a 79 (+7) in the second. Depuydt was one of five players to record an eagle on day one.
Piper Stubbs is one stroke behind Depuydt at +13 and is tied for 13th place.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is +15 and in a tie for 16th place and
McKenzie Mages is +16 and tied for 19th place.
As a team the Jackrabbits are +37 following the first day. North Dakota State has a nine-shot lead over SDSU.
The final round of the Jackrabbit Intercollegiate is set to tee off Tuesday at 9 a.m.
