SIOUX FALLS, SD – Ben Olson has been named the season's first TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Olson opened the XC season with an individual title victory in the four-mile at the Augustana Twilight in a field of 323 athletes. He crossed the finish line in a personal-best 19:08.21 to grab the win and help secure the team title for SDSU.
This is the second career weekly honor for the senior from Coon Rapids, Minn.
The South Dakota State cross country teams will host the SDSU Classic Friday, September 9 at the Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings. Start time is set for 6 p.m. with the women's race first.
