Crystal Burk has signed a professional contract with the Gislaved Volleyball Club in Gislaved, Sweden.
Burk, a December 2022 SDSU graduate, has joined Gislaved at the midway point of its season and looks to help the team to a top-eight finish and playoff berth.
Burk ended her five-season Jackrabbit career with a number of accolades and records to her name. She is a two-time first-team all-Summit League honoree and owns the program records in career attacks (4,976), career sets played (495), single-season kills (589), single-season points (652.5) and single-season attacks (1,620). She is also ranked second in career matches played (135), third in career kills (1,658) and points (1,871) and fifth in career digs (1,350).
In 2022, Burk finished the season ranked third in the nation in total kills (589) and 13th in kills per set (4.50).
"Our program couldn't be happier for Crystal to embark on this next phase of her volleyball career," said Jackrabbit head coach
Dan Georgalas. "After a record-breaking season for SDSU, there's no doubt that Crystal is ready for the next challenge. We are so proud of her and grateful for the impact she's made in Brookings."
In her final two seasons as a Jackrabbit, Burk led the squad to consecutive winning seasons and its first Summit League tournament appearances in more than a decade. The Jackrabbits were invited to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship and won a national postseason match for the first time in program history in 2022.
Gislaved Volleyball Club plays in the Swedish Elite League. Burk's first match with the team is January 14.
