BROOKINGS, SD –
Leah (Hansen) Hisken finished as runner-up in the women's 6k race to lead South Dakota State to a second place team finish at the Summit League Cross Country Championships on Friday at Edgebrook Golf Course.
Hisken ran a 21:06.8 for second place in her final cross country championship as a Jackrabbit while
Jessica Lutmer took ninth in 21:24.5 and
Mya Kizer finished 10
th with a 21:28.8.
Claire Beckman was next for the Jackrabbits as she clocked a 21:54.1 for 14
th place and
Caitlin Bright rounded out the scoring runners in 20
th place with a time of 22:11.8.
Nicole Greyer clocked a 22:21.7 for 23
rd place,
Grace Waage finished 27
th in 22:32.3 and
Emma Gonzalez ran a 22:35.6 to take 29
th place.
Emma Ecker claimed 35
th place in 22:56.0 and
Sierra Watterud crossed the finish line in 23:10.7 for 43
rd.
Hisken received All-League First Team honors and Lutmer, Kizer and Beckman were recognized on the All-League Second Team.
South Dakota won the women's title with 50 points as the Jackrabbits finished second with 55 points. North Dakota State came third with 69 points, North Dakota finished fourth with 78 points and St. Thomas scored 122 points for fifth. Omaha (160 points), Kansas City (195 points) and Oral Roberts (212 points) rounded out the scoring runners.
UP NEXT: The Jackrabbits will head south to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 10.
