SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State's
Luke Honner was selected as the Summit League's October TicketSmarter Peak Golfer of the Month, league officials announced Friday.
Honner posted a pair of top-20 finishes in October, tying for 17th to open the month at the Badger Invitational before claiming runner-up at the Throw Down Up Top to close out his fall season.
Honner posted par or better score in five of six rounds during October, including two in the 60's. He opened the Badger Invitational with a 68 (-3) en route to a 214 (+1) total at the TPC Wisconsin in Madison.
At the Throw Down Up Top event hosted by South Dakota, the Sioux Falls native fired three scores under par, including an opening-round 69 (-4) at the par-73 layout at the Landmand Golf Club in Homer, Neb. He followed with rounds of 70 (-3) and 71 (-2) to finish with a 210 (-9) total to finish one stroke off the pace of medalist Shaun Campbell of Creighton.
