PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - The South Dakota State women's golf team wrapped up the opening round of the Lady Bison Classic Sunday afternoon at the Bay Point Golf Club.
As a team, SDSU sits in a tie for sixth place after the first 18 holes. The squad tallied a 314 (+26) team score on day one, matching Morehead State and Dayton's opening day scores.
The Jackrabbits were led by
Piper Stubbs on day one. The sophomore carded a 75 (+3) over the first round and is tied for 13th place in the standings.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is the next Jackrabbit on the leaderboard. She tallied a 7-over-par 79 Sunday, which puts her in a tie for 29th place.
McKenzie Mages,
Alex Kandolin and
Tatum Depuydt are one shot back and tied for 36th place.
Lipscomb, the tournament host, leads the team standings at +3, four shots ahead of Florida Gulf Coast in second place.
The teams return to the course for round two Monday, then will play the final round Tuesday.
