PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - The South Dakota State women's golf team sits in sixth place following the second round of the Lady Bison Classic at the Bay Point Golf Club. SDSU's
Piper Stubbs is in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings.
The Jackrabbit squad tallied a 316 (+28) team score during Monday's round, bringing their total to 630 (+54) with one round remaining. SDSU is seven strokes behind UNC Asheville (fifth place) and two shots ahead of Morehead State and Murray State (seventh place).
Stubbs carded at 75 (+3) Monday, matching her score from round one, to jump seven spots on the leaderboard. The sophomore put together a steady round two with a par on all but three holes. Stubbs has recorded a par score on 29 holes over the last two rounds, which leads all players.
McKenzie Mages is next on the leaderboard for SDSU. She is in a four-way tie for 21st place with a 157 (+13) two-day score. After recording an 80 (+8) on day one, Mages shot a 77 (+5) on day two and moved up 15 spots in the standings.
Alex Kandolin is tied for 35th place (160, +16), followed by
Tatum Depuydt in a tie for 46th (164, +20) and
Shakira-Ann Kuys in a tie for 53rd (166, +22).
Lipscomb, the tournament host, leads the team standings with a +23 score-to-par. Florida Gulf Coast is eight shots back in second place.
The tournament resumes for the final day Tuesday morning.
