PALM DESERT, Calif. - The South Dakota State men's golf team opens the spring season Friday and Saturday with match play competition at the Classic Club golf course.Â
In the bracket-style tournament, SDSU will match up against Colorado in the quarterfinal round Friday morning, then will advance to take on either Wyoming or Seattle in the afternoon match. The final round of matches will be played Saturday morning.Â
Ty Kretz will play in the No, 1 spot for the Jackrabbits, followed by Matthew Schaefer, Jonah Dohrer, Blake Schaper, Luke Honner and Tyler Seeling in the six-player format.Â
Most recently, SDSU wrapped the fall season with a fifth-place finish at the Iowa Fall Classic in October. Kretz finished in third place in the individual standings.Â
