IOWA CITYÂ - The South Dakota State men's golf team will take part in the Hawkeye Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Finkbine Golf Course. The tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday-Sunday but has been moved up due to the weather forecast.Â
The Jacks are coming off a record-breaking performance at the Duel at the Bluffs Monday in Vermillion. SDSU posted a 546 (-30) final tally, a new program best for 36 holes. The squad was led by
Ty Kretz, who finished with a 131 (-13) scorecard, also a new record.
Kretz will play in the No. 1 spot for SDSU, followed by
Matthew Schaefer,
Jonah Dohrer,
Luke Honner and
Noah Boraas.
Tyler Seeling will compete individually.Â
Following the Hawkeye Invitational, SDSU will wrap up the regular season at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio State April 21-23. The Summit League Championship is April 30-May 2.
