LINCOLN, Neb. - Strong Monday rounds from
Alex Kandolin and
McKenzie Mages have the duo sitting inside the top-five heading into the final round of the Summit League Championship at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
Kandolin is in second place with a 142 (E) tally after two rounds. The senior shot a 72 (+1) Monday and notched an eagle on hole 14. She is two strokes behind Anna Cathrine Krekling (Denver), who leads the field. Kandolin is the only player to have an eagle so far this week.
Mages is in fifth place. She fired a 71 (E) during Monday's round, bringing her two-day total to 144 (+2). The freshman posted four birdies in round two has has eight birdies this week, the most of all players.
Piper Stubbs is in a four-way tie for 17th place at 150 (+8). She carded a 73 (+2) Monday with a pair of birdies.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is in a tie for 31st (156, +7) and
Tatum Depuydt is in a tie for 36th (157, +15).
As a team, SDSU is in fourth place with a 591 (+23). The Jacks' 294 Monday matches their best team round of the season. No. 38 Denver leads the field at 578 (+10), followed by North Dakota State (581, +13) and South Dakota (582, +14).
The final round of the tournament is set for Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Depuydt will get the Jackrabbits started at 8:50, followed by the rest of the team in 10-minute increments.
