LINCOLN, Neb. - Led by an even-par round from
Luke Honner, the South Dakota State men's golf team is up to ninth place following day two of the Summit League Championships at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
Honner, a freshman, fired a 71 (E) in Tuesday's round, moving him into a tie for ninth place on the individual leaderboard (150, +8). He went 1-over on the first nine holes of the day, then went 1-under on the back nine. His round-two performance moved him up 20 spots in the standings from Monday's finish.
Ty Kretz posted a +3 score Tuesday, which brought his two-day total to 155 (+13). He is tied for 26th place.
Matthew Schaefer is tied for 36th place (158, +16), followed by
Jonah Dohrer in a tie for 43rd (161, +19) and
Tyler Seeling in a tie for 47th place (163, +21).
The Jackrabbit team saw a 21-shot improvement from day one to day two. They recorded a 300 (+16) tally Tuesday, are 52-over as a team and within five shots of sixth place. Denver's 593 (+25) leads the field.Â
The final round of the championships tees off Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
