SARASOTA, Fla. - The South Dakota State women's golf team completed the first 18 holes of the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational Sunday at the Palm Aire Country Club.
The tournament originally had 36 holes scheduled for Sunday and 18 holes Monday, however inclement weather forced the competing teams to played only one round on the opening day. Monday's round will still be just 18 holes.
The Jackrabbits shot 28-over-par as a team and sit in 15th place out of 15 teams.
Shakira-Ann Kuys and
Reese Jansa are tied for 52nd place on the individual leaderboard to pace the Jacks. Kuys's day-one highlights included a pair of birdies and an eagle. Jansa also collected two birdies on the round.
Alex Kandolin finished the day two shots behind the team leaders and is tied for 57th place.
Molly O'Hara is tied for 65th and
Piper Stubbs is tied for 72nd place.
Ohio State is 3-over to lead the team standings. Caley McGinty (Ohio State), Brooke Biermann (Michigan State) and Lindsey Thiele (Nebraska) are tied for the individual lead at 2-under-par.
The final round of the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET Monday.
