MAYETTA, Kan. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is tied for third place following the opening round of the Summit League Championships at Firekeeper Golf Course.
The Jackrabbits posted a 298 (+10) team score for the first 18 holes. The squad is tied with St. Thomas. Oral Roberts is in second place at 5-under and Denver leads the field at 10-under-par.
Fifth-year
Alex Kandolin is in 10th place to lead the Jackrabbits. She carded an even-par 72 Sunday with a pair of birdies and an eagle.
McKenzie Mages and
Piper Stubbs are one shot back in a tie for 11th place. They posted matching 73 (+1) scorecards with three birdies apiece.
Shakira-Ann Kuys tallied an 80 (+80) and
Reese Jansa had an 82 (+10). They are in 34th and 39th place, respectively.
Denver's Anna Zanusso is 6-under-par after the first 18 holes to lead the field.
UP NEXT
The second round of the tournament is set for Monday. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
