VERONA, Wis. - The Jackrabbit women's golf team is tied for seventh place following the opening round of the Badger Invitational Sunday at University Ridge Golf Course.
Reese Jansa fired an even-par 72 for Sunday's round and is tied for fifth place. She started the day on hole 10 and went +2 on the back nine, then 2-under on the front half. The junior posted an eagle on hole two and finished the day with five holes under par.
Piper Stubbs is +3 after 18 holes and in a seven-way tie for 20th on the leaderboard. She was fairly steady on the round with three holes over par and one birdie.
Molly O'Hara is one shot behind Stubbs in a tie for 27th place.
McKenzie Mages is in 43rd (+7) and
Shakira-Ann Kuys is in 50th (+8).
UTSA leads the team competition with a 7-over tally. The Jackrabbits are +14 as a team. Rutgers' Lucrezia Rossettin and Sam Houston's Grace Jin are both 3-under-par to lead the individual standings.

The Jackrabbits take the course for round two starting Monday morning at 9 a.m.
