"Two long days of track, certainly, but it was a great way to end the meet with the men's 4X400-meter. We had a ton of great performances, highlighted by Brielle's school record. We had a couple of big performances from Cody Larson and Jaiden Boomsma won over in long jump. I think we had a lot of personal bests all across the board. Overall, a really great weekend for the Jackrabbits. We just need to get totally healthy and build upon it here in the next two weeks and get ready for the Summit League meet.
THE MEET
Brielle Dixon continues to dominate as the senior clocked another 60-hurdles program record, besting her previous run of 8.28 which she had set just last weekend. Dixon won the event with a time of 8.26, which is currently the fastest time in the league this season.
Following her 60-hurdles record-breaking performance, Dixon made her way back to the line moments later to compete in the finals of the 60-meter dash. The senior clocked another personal record, crossing the line at 7.51 to finish runner-up. Dixon's time is currently fourth-fastest in the conference this season and placed her as the fourth-best 60-meter performer in Jackrabbit history.
Dixon's 60-hurdles run wasn't the only record-breaker of the night. The men's 4X400-meter relay team, consisting of Lucas Flemmer, Sam Castle, Thailan Hallman, and James Pierce, posted a new program record with a run of 3:12.12 to take gold.
