LINCOLN, Neb. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in fifth place at Nebraska's Git-R-Done Invitational Tuesday, up three spots from their place after the first two rounds.
The Jackrabbits tallied an even-par scorecard as a team for Tuesday's lap, the squad's best round of the tournament. SDSU finished three shots behind Wichita State, who finished fourth. Nebraska went 29-under over three rounds to win the team title.
"I'm very proud of this group this week," said the Jackrabbits' head coach,
Parker Edens. "They didn't have their best stuff but hung in there and fought every step of the way for each other. They stumbled coming down the stretch last night but to come back today with a great round and move up into the top five shows me a lot about their grit and character."

Bryson Mercier finished in a tie for 24th place with a +2 final scorecard. Mercier was fairly steady over three rounds and finished with a par score on 41 of 54 holes, the most of all players.
Drew Teeter was one shot back from Mercier, posting a +3 final tally to tie for 26th place. He was one of eight players to record an eagle this week.
Tyler Seeling fired a 68 (-3) for Tuesday's round, which shot him up 22 spots on the individual leaderboard. He had a +4 three-round scorecard and tied for 31st place.
