A week after boasting a perfect 4-0 home record, the Jackrabbits hit the road for Hobo Week with a 4-3 home record and riding a season-long four game skid.
The four game skid started with a loss at Drake, and then continued with home losses to North Dakota State, IPFW and Oakland, all of which dropped the Jacks into a tie with UMKC for sixth in the league standings with a 5-6 record.
IPFW sent the Jacks to their third straight loss on Friday with in a 3-0 contest. The Jacks got three chances at set point, but could not convert. Conversely, IPFW got two tries at set point before the converted on the third try to win the set 30-28. The Mastodons held on to that momentum through the second and third sets for the 3-0 win.
Oakland came into Frost Arena on Saturday and quickly snatched the momentum and used it to cruise to a 3-0 sweep.
The Jackrabbits look to turn things around this week against IUPUI and Western Illinois, two teams that lost the first meetings of the season at Frost Arena.
Fiona Jones continues to lead the Jackrabbit offense with 205 kills, but Ellyce Youngren, who leads the team with 56 blocks and with a .247 hitting percentage, enters the week trailing Jones by just two kills with 203.
Stacey Wernert leads the Jacks with 271 digs, while Nicole Peters and Thyele Rechatiko continue to split the setting duties.
Next up for the Jackrabbits - SDSU opens the week with its only non-conference home match of the season on Wednesday against Northern Iowa, and then closes out the home schedule on Halloween weekend against Southern Utah on Friday and against UMKC on Saturday.
The Jackrabbits lost in four sets to the Panthers last season in Cedar Falls, Iowa, lost in five sets to UMKC earlier this season in Kansas City, and rallied from an 0-2 deficit to beat Southern Utah in five sets earlier this season in Cedar City.

THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION
IUPUI Jaguars (14-7, 6-5 Summit) - The Jaguars, who host Valapraiso on Tuesday, opened last week with a 3-0 loss at home to Ball State, and then split a pair of Summit League matches over the weekend, beating Southern Utah in five sets Friday before falling in five to UMKC on Saturday.
Kalyse Reimbold leads the IUPUI offense with 262 kills and ranks third on the team with 34 total blocks. Monica Suding leads the Jags with a .278 hitting percentage and ranks second on the team with 185 kills and with 38 total blocks.
The first meeting; 9/26/09 at Frost Arena - A hot-hitting Ellyce Youngren led the Jackrabbits to a 3-1 win in the first meeting of the season with 15 kills and a .367 hitting percentage (15-4-30). The Jacks rolled to a pair of 25-15 wins in the first two sets and a 25-14 win in the fourth set.
The Series vs. IUPUI - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 4-1 after splitting the season series in 2008.
Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks (8-14, 4-7 Summit) - The Fighting Leathernecks, who host Drake on Tuesday, dropped their second and third straight Summit League matches over the weekend, falling 3-0 at UMKC on Thursday and 3-1 at Southern Utah on Saturday.
Cait Egan leads the Fighting Leatherneck's offense with 246 kills, with a .285 hitting percentage and with 59 total blocks. Allison Gilbert ranks second on the team with 185 kills.
The first meeting; 9/25/09 at Frost Arena - The Jackrabbits hung on to beat the Leathernecks in the first meeting of the season 3-2. The Jacks won the first set 25-20, but fell in the next two sets, both by the score of 26-24. The Jacks rebounded two win the fourth set 25-23 and then the fifth set 15-13.
Fiona Jones led the Jackrabbits with a career-high 26 kills in a career-high 62 attempts.
The Series vs. Western Illinois - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 5-2 after the two teams split the season series in 2008. The other WIU win came during the 1983 season.
