South Dakota State wraps-up a three match road swing on Wednesday with a non-conference match at Drake before returning home, and to Summit League play, on Saturday against North Dakota State.
The Jackrabbits avoided another road sweep on Saturday with a five-set win at Southern Utah, rebounding from an 0-2 deficit in the match to win 3-2, the Jacks first road win of the season.
The week started with a 3-2 loss at UMKC, which coincidentally came after the Jacks led 2-0 in the match before falling in five to the Kangaroos.
Ellyce Youngren led the Jacks over the weekend with 19 kills in each match, and did so with a .325 hitting percentage (38-13-77). Fiona Jones finished the weekend with 31 kills and with 29 digs, recording her team leading seventh and eights double-doubles. Kelly Herrmann added 21 kills and led the team with seven total blocks, two solo and five block assists.
Thyele Rechatiko started both matches, but shared the setting duties with Nicole Peters, who led the team with 55 set assists over the weekend. Rechatiko finished with 45 sets assists, and recorded her second double-double of the season with 33 sets and 12 digs at UMKC.
Next up for the Jackrabbits - The Jacks remain at home for a pair of league matches next weekend, when they open the second half of the conference schedule against IPFW on Friday and against Oakland on Saturday.
IPFW downed the Jacks 3-0 in the first meeting, while Oakland squeaked out a five-set win.

JACKRABBITS DIG PINK ON SATURDAY - The South Dakota State volleyball team helps fight for a cure on Saturday against conference rival North Dakota State in a Dig Pink Rally for breast cancer awareness.
Along with 256 other teams across the country, SDSU participates in Dig Pink Rally to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.
A nation-wide effort to help fight breast cancer and sponsored by the Side-Out Foundation, Dig Pink efforts raised over $390,000 for breast cancer research.

THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION
Drake Bulldogs (11-7, 2-4 Missouri Valley) - Coached by former Jackrabbit assistant Phil McDaniel, Drake comes into its match with the Jacks riding a three-match losing streak, after dropping Missouri Valley Conference matches to Missouri State and No. 25 Wichita State last weekend at home.
Alisa DeBerg Roth leads a balanced Bulldog attack with 163 kills and ranks second on the team with 19 total blocks. Angela Bys ranks second on the team with 133 kills, followed closely by Michelle Reldy with 132. Reldy also ranks second on the team with 23 total blocks.
The Series vs. Drake - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 8-2, including eight in a row. The two Drake wins both came in 1973.
North Dakota State Bison (12-3, 8-0 Summit) - NDSU opens the week riding a 27-match Summit League winning series. The last Bison loss in conference play came back on Nov. 2, 2007, at Western Illinois.
NDSU did lose a match last week, 3-0 at BYU, but also picked-up Summit League wins over Southern Utah and UMKC.
Lauren McLaughlin leads the balanced Bison attack with 181 kills, followed closely by Chrissy Knuth with 171 to go along with her team-high 53 blocks.
They remain undefeated in the league thanks to a .245 team hitting percentage and and .115 opponent hitting percentage and a 63-42 edge in total blocks.
The Series vs. NDSU - The Jackrabbits lead the series at the Division I level 9-5, but the Bison won each of the last three meetings, including a win in Fargo in 2007 and a series sweep in 2008.
