The Jackrabbits travel to Fargo, N.D., for their only match of the week this Saturday, when they take on North Dakota State, who secured its second straight Summit League regular season title over the weekend.
The Jackrabbits opened their final week at home with a loss to Missouri Valley power Northern Iowa, but responded on the weekend when it counted most, with Summit League wins over Southern Utah and UMKC.
Fiona Jones led the way for the Jacks with perhaps her best weekend of the season. Jones finished the week with 35 kills, and did so with an efficient .310 hitting percentage. Ellyce Youngren tallied 29 kills and a team-high 10 blocks, while Kaitlin Klingemann came on strong with 20 kills and a team-high .349 hitting percentage.
Illness played a bit of a factor in the three matches, sidelining leading setter Nicole Peters for all three matches, and limiting libero Stacey Wernert on Wednesday against Northern Iowa.
The Jackrabbits two wins keeps their Summit League Tournament hopes alive, but they need to keep winning and get some help, as every team ahead of them in the standings holds the tiebreaker over SDSU.
Ellyce Youngren leads the Jackrabbits with 260 kills and with 74 total blocks. Fiona Jones ranks second on the team with 256 kills and with 247 digs, and leads the team with 10 double-doubles. Nicole Peters leads the Jacks with 424 set assists, but continues to split the setting duties with Thyele Rechatiko, who enters the week with 415 set assists.
Next up for the Jackrabbits - Following their trip to Fargo, the Jackrabbits wrap-up the regular season with matches at Oral Roberts on Nov. 13, and at Centenary on Nov. 14.
The Jacks cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Ladies in the home opener Sept. 11, and then followed that up with a 3-1 win over the Golden Eagles on Sept. 12, to complete the home opening weekend sweep.
